Crafts, Jewelry and Fusion!

The exhibition FUSIÓN, Contest of Jewelry with Glass, brings together works by young talents and established artists selected in the first edition of this call, promoted by Fundesarte and the Museum of Glass Art of Alcorcón - MAVA. Sorribes Glass has been selected to participate in one of the most important handicraft events nationwide, which shows that after almost a century of history we continue working to make one of the greatest treasures of our country grow, the artisan tradition.

The most innovative trends in creative glass jewelry can be seen these days at the show Fusion, Glass Jewelery Contest, which welcomes the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo en Vidrio de Alcorcón – MAVA. Inaugurated on the 6th, coinciding with the European Crafts Days, the exhibition will remain open until June 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

The exhibition brings together works by young talents and established artists who were selected in the 1st Glass Jewelery Contest, convened by Fundesarte, chair of promotion of the crafts of EOI (School of Industrial Organization), and for the Alcorcón Museum of Glass Art - MAVA. Fusion aims to offer a representative sample of this artisan subsector and bring together in a single exhibition artists who work around a material as versatile as glass. Likewise, it seeks to promote synergies and collaborations between artisans from different fields.

The sample is made up of 41 pieces or collections by 29 creators from all over the national geography. They can be admired from sculptural pieces to other more conventional ones, but which stand out for their beauty and simplicity, passing through jewels with a message that will make us reflect on our environment. There are also collaborations between artisans and artisans from different sectors. In short, a variety that also reflects the diversity of the people who have created them.
